Chilling details of an unimaginable crime are coming to light in the US, where a couple, grandparents, killed their granddaughter from a tree.

Clend Ellwoods, 62, and Lisa Jones, 57, are charged with first-degree murder in the death of their 5-year-old granddaughter, Jada Moore.

The girl’s mother left her daughter with her parents in Illinois last March to look after her as she struggled to find a job.

A few days ago, the 62-year-old grandfather called for immediate action and said “I was hitting my granddaughter and now she is unconscious”.

According to local media, the police arrived immediately and found the little girl naked and unconscious on the sofa, with the belt her grandparents were beating her with next to her.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital from a cerebral hemorrhage. Also, according to the autopsy, the child was systematically abused by the grandparents and had bruises and exudations from previous injuries everywhere.

According to prosecutors, Jones “admitted that both had been hitting Jada as early as a month after she came to stay with them.”

The couple beat the 5-year-old girl using a belt, shoes and their hands, as hard as they could.

In fact, a search of their home by the authorities turned up a pair of children’s shorts with underwear inside (which were soiled) and a power of attorney from Jada’s mother, giving the grandparents custody of school and medical decisions.

Also found in the fridge was a calendar from June, where four dates were circled when the child was allegedly defiled…
