The Ukrainian army has recaptured 3 square kilometers of territory near Bakhmut, in the eastern part of Ukraine, one of the focal points of the ongoing counter-offensive by the forces of Kiev, as the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Defense announced today.

“The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry unequivocally condemns the provocative actions of the Russian Federation on August 13 in the Black Sea regarding the Turkish dry cargo ship ‘Sukru Okan’ sailing to the port of Ismail,” the ministry said in a statement.
“The Russian Navy violated the United Nations Charter, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and other standards of international law. These actions are an example of Russia’s deliberate policy of jeopardizing freedom of navigation and the security of merchant shipping in the Black Sea.”
