It is the first time that Ukrainian security services have openly claimed responsibility for the operation
Ukrainian security services told CNN exclusive video indicating the moment when sea drone attacks bridge connecting Russia to annexed Crimea.
Is first time the SBU has openly taken responsibility for the business.
The attack on July 17 caused damage to the bridge roads and, according to Russian officials, killed two civilians. It was the second attack on the vital passage for Russia.

The head of the SBU, Vasyl Maliuk, told CNN that the drone used, called “Sea Baby”, it was the result of months of effort that began immediately after the invasion. “Sea drones are a unique invention of the Security Service of Ukraine,” he said. “None of the private companies are involved. Using these drones we recently carried out a successful strike on the Crimean bridge, the ship Olengorskiy Gornyak and the tanker SIG.”
Maliuk is referring to the SIG oil tanker that was hit in the Black Sea, which Ukrainian officials say was carrying fuel for the Russian military.
The SBU provided CNN with video from the July attack, which shows the pilot’s screen moments before the Sea Baby planted up to 850 kilograms of explosives on one of the bridge’s concrete support pillars. Agency sources also provided two CCTV videos to CNN, which showed the moment a drone hit the road section of the bridge and then another drone hit the rail section about five minutes later, from the opposite direction.
Ukraine was not clear on its responsibility for the attacks, confirming its involvement only through anonymous statements and vague references to “unidentified floating objects”. Maliuk’s immediate claim of responsibility marks an attempt to warn Moscow of the threat posed by these new drones.
Maliuk also claimed responsibility for the first Ukrainian attack on the bridge, on Oct. 8, but declined to elaborate. He said the July drone strike was the result of months of preparation. Also, the attack on Kerch was a joint operation with the Ukrainian navy, which he led together with Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa.
