An alliance of European states led by the British government announced today that it will supply air defenses worth around 90 million pounds (about 105 million euros) to Ukraine to help defend against Russian drone attacks.

The initiative includes a £56 million contract with Norwegian firm Kongsberg to purchase Cortex Typhon systems, which are installed in vehicles and can detect and destroy UAVs.

“These air defense systems have the capability and flexibility to be rapidly deployed either to protect the civilian population and infrastructure of Ukraine or to be used on the front lines” to protect the Ukrainian armed forces, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said. according to a press release released by his services.

The International Fund for Ukraine, which includes Britain, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, among others, has also agreed to proceed with the conclusion of two more contracts for the purchase of anti-aircraft equipment for Kiev, the details of which which remain to be announced.
