Mackenzie Cirilla sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for intentionally crashing her car in Ohio, killing her boyfriend and one of his friends
Mackenzie Cirilla was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for intentionally crashing her car in Ohio, killing her boyfriend and one of his friends.
Mackenzie, 20, broke down in tears as she learned her sentence on Monday for the July 2022 murders of her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, 20, and his 19-year-old boyfriend, Davion Flanagan.
“He had a mission and he executed it precisely. The mission was death,” Judge Nancy Margaret Russo said at sentencing.
In November, she was charged with murder, aggravated vehicular homicide, a felony, despite insisting the crash was an accident.

Prosecutors said he was on a “death mission” which he saw as a way out of their toxic relationship and had tracked down the route a week before killing him and his friend, who was a “cargo”.
Russo said Monday that the most important piece of evidence against Cirilla was the “chilling and tragic” surveillance video, which shows her accelerating to “crash” her Toyota Camry into the wall of a commercial building.
“This is the kind of evidence you rarely see,” Russo said.
Last week, when Cirilla was convicted after a four-day trial without a jury, Russo said the two men in the car experienced utter terror as he drove them to their deaths. “There is no doubt about the sheer terror of the two people in that car,” he said. “It wasn’t careless driving. That was murder.”
Cirilla’s lawyers had argued that the crash was an accident.
The defendant, who did not testify during the trial, spoke before the court before the sentence was read.
“I am so sorry for the families of Dominic and Davion. I hope one day you will understand that I would never let this happen or do it on purpose. I wish I could remember what happened,” she said through tears. “We were all friends and Dom was my soulmate,” she said.
Killer Mackenzie Shirilla made a statement to the court prior to sentencing.

Cirilla and the two victims were smoking marijuana before the crash. Her family said they plan to appeal the verdict.
In a TikTok video, she stars on camera and declares, “I’m just one of those girls who can do a lot of drugs and not die.”
After the accident from her hospital bed, Cirila searched the internet for modeling jobs in Los Angeles. After her release, she attended a music concert in a wheelchair and took part in a Halloween TikTok video, dancing with friends dressed as a corpse.
