Ukraine announced today that it carried out during the past night a commando operation in the Russian-annexed Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea and how he killed Russian soldiers there and raised the Ukrainian flag.

“The enemy suffered casualties among their men and equipment was destroyed. And the national flag flew again in Ukrainian Crimea,” the Ukrainian military intelligence service said in a post on the Telegram platform, explaining that special forces units landed near the villages of Olenifka and Mayak, in the western part of the peninsula, before withdrawing without casualties.

The same source reports that the Ukrainian forces succeeded “all targets”without however specifying what those goals were.

Moreover, Ukrainian local officials said today, on the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, that at least 13 people were injured today by Russian attacks in the country.

Russian rocket caused the injury of 10 people in the city of Dnipro and three people, including a child, were injured in an attack on the southern city of Kherson.

Three of the victims in Dnipro are being treated, regional governor Serhi Lisak said, adding that a transport facility was damaged.

More than 10 other buildings, including a bank, a hotel and an administration building were damaged, he said.

Photos posted by Lisak on the Telegram platform show a partially destroyed building, where people are clearing debris, and a twisted metal structure.

“The photo shows the only thing the ‘Russian world’ is capable of.” To destroy everything it touches”, he underlined.

A seven-year-old girl was injured by a Russian bombardment in the center of Kherson, said regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

Two more people were injured when one of the shells hit the roof of a private residence, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said. A photo was also posted online showing a partially destroyed building with a gaping hole in one side of it.

Reuters notes that it was unable to confirm the information.

Today, exactly 18 months after the start of the Russian invasion, is a national holiday for Ukraine, which celebrates its independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
