Yevgeny Prigozhin secretly buried at Porokhovsky cemetery in St. Petersburgas it publishes the NEXTAwhich is invoked information from the press office of the head of Wagner

In the same publication it is stated that “Putin and ‘dear brother’ Kadyrov did not come to say goodbye to the head of Wagner.

Prigozhin’s press office said that his farewell “it happened in a closed circle” and that “those who wish to say goodbye to him can visit the Porokhovsky cemetery.”

Prigozhin was killed on August 23 when the plane he was traveling in crashed, two months after the Wagner uprising posed the biggest challenge to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Absolute secrecy had been observed surrounding the preparations for his funeral. This morning the Kremlin announced that Putin was not going to attend the ceremony.

Two other top Wagner executives, Valery Chekalov and Dmitry Utkin, four of Prigozhin’s bodyguards and three crew members were also killed when the Embraer Legacy 600 private jet crashed in Tver, north of Moscow.

Earlier today, the head of Wagner’s logistics department, Valery Chekalov, was laid to rest at Severnoye Cemetery, also in St. Petersburg. Footage from a Reuters video showed a priest chanting in front of the casket, which was surrounded by relatives, friends and former colleagues of Chekalov, some holding flowers. Some, including women and children wearing sunglasses, kissed the coffin. Unidentified people ordered the agency’s photojournalist and cameraman to stop taking pictures.
