Chinese President Xi Jinping likely to skip G20 leaders’ summit in India next weekaccording to Reuters sources.
Two Indian officials, a China-based diplomat and an official working for the government of another G20 country said Premier Li Chiang is expected to represent Beijing at the Sept. 9-10 meeting in New Delhi.
Lee is also likely to attend a summit of East and Southeast Asian leaders in Jakarta, Indonesia on September 5-7.

The Chinese president last met with Biden on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia last November.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has already announced that he will not travel to New Delhi and will send Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov instead.
A senior government official from India, which is hosting the summit, told Reuters that “we know the prime minister will come.”
All the officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media.
Anticipation of a meeting between Xi Jinping and Joe Biden has been fueled by a number of top US officials have visited Beijing in recent monthsincluding a trip by Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo earlier this week.
Another upcoming summit mooted for possible talks between the two leaders is the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders’ meeting in San Francisco on November 12-18.
Several G20 ministerial meetings in India ahead of the summit have been marked by disagreements as Russia and China jointly opposed joint statements that included paragraphs condemning Moscow for its invasion of Ukraine last year.
