The head of the Ukrainian intelligence service advocated the transfer of the war to the territory of Russias, NEXTA broadcasts.
The head of the Central Directorate of the Ukrainian Intelligence Service, Kirill Budanov, believes that the war started by the Kremlin should return to Russian soil.
In particular, in an interview with journalist Natalia Mosiychuk, he said that “the war must be transferred to another territory, which, clearly, for us is Russia and its other territories, where their influence is. To push them and hold them back. The wider the business, the better.”

Budanov’s position on the issue differs from that of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskj. In an interview with the Argentinian publication Nacion in August, Zelensky said that Kiev does not want to transfer the conflict to Russian territory.
“Ukraine does not want to continue the war on Russian soil, that was never the goal,” he said. The day before, the Ukrainian president also noted that such a move would not be supported by Ukraine’s allies. “There is a great danger in such a case that we will be left alone,” believes Zelensky. At the same time, he spoke positively about drone strikes on facilities on Russian soil.
“Every day there is news of another explosion somewhere over there on the territory of the Russian Federation and they all give a slightly greater sense of justice.”
