The man was killed instantly after being struck by lightning while riding a scooter in the area of ​​Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate.

In total, the Fire Department received more than 200 calls, mostly about trees down on the road and flooded basements.

Power supply was temporarily interrupted in some places and train services were stopped for a few hours to clear the tracks of mud and tree trunks.

Five traffic accidents occurred on the A3 and A48 highways, in which three people were injured, two of them seriously.
