Russian armed forces today destroyed three unmanned surface vessels (USVs) in the Black Sea, hours after the Ukrainian attack on the Sevastopol shipyard in the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula.

“On September 13, the naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet detected and destroyed three unmanned surface vessels of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a post on the Telegram platform.

An official of Ukraine’s military intelligence service earlier estimated that a large landing ship and a submarine of the Russian navy, which were hit in the early morning attack on the port of Sevastopol, have suffered irreparable damage.

“These are significant damages. We can now say that they are probably beyond repair,” Andrii Yusov told Ukrainian TV.

The Russian Defense Ministry had confirmed that two ships – undergoing repairs at the Sevastopol shipyard – were hit by Ukrainian missiles and damaged. He did not go into further detail about either the type of ships or the extent of the damage they suffered.
