North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is returning to his country today “loaded” with gifts from his Russian hosts – including a rifle, a cosmonaut glove and military drones – which are themselves a violation of UN sanctions.
All the items that the Russians gave to Kim Jong Un during his visit to the country will be displayed in the “friendship” museum in the hills of Mount Myohyangsan 160 km from the North Korean capital, where the gifts received by the three generations are kept leaders of North Korea, during their rare trips abroad.

Exchange of weapons
After the summit with the Russian president, Kim received a Russian-made automatic rifle of the “highest quality,” according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Kim returned the… kind gesture by gifting Putin a rifle “made by North Korean craftsmen.”
Putin also presented the North Korean leader with a glove made from a spacesuit worn by a Russian cosmonaut.
From fur hats to drones
– Oleg Kozemiako, the governor of the Primorsky region, presented Kim with a “set of modern, light armor” designed for “offensive operations” protecting the chest, shoulders, neck and groin, Russian media reported.
– Kim was also given five offensive gifts drones and a Geranium-25 reconnaissance drone, which is widely used in the war in Ukraine, TASS reported.
The move is a violation of at least 2 UN Security Council resolutions against the North – which Moscow approved – imposed over Pyongyang’s banned missile and nuclear activities.
-In Vladivostok, where Kim inspected Russian nuclear bombers, fighter jets equipped with hypersonic missiles and a warship, the North Korean leader received a fur hat as a gift from Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The hat was “the right size, it was a gift from the heart and Comrade Kim Jong Un liked it,” according to Russia’s ambassador to Pyongyang, Alexander Matzegora.
He left in his armored train
The North Korean leader’s departure ceremony took place “at the Artyom-Primorsky 1 station, where Kim Jong Un’s armored train was already located,” as reported by the Ria Novosti agency.
In a related video released by the agency, Kim, who rarely travels outside his country, can be seen walking a red carpet towards his carriage and saying goodbye to those present.
“Kim Jong Un’s train is headed for the Hasan border station. The distance is… about 250 kilometers,” TASS news agency reported.
