Ukraine’s president once again accused Russia of “genocide”
The president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced tonight, at the UN General Assembly, that he is preparing a world peace conference and invites to it “all those who do not tolerate any aggression”. The Ukrainian president said he was working to ensure that, following Russia’s attack on Ukraine, no country “would dare” to attack another.
Zelensky once again accused Russia of “genocide”, saying it is displacing young children from Ukrainian lands and teaching them to “hate Ukraine”. He also said Moscow was trying to weaponize food and energy. Using the global food shortage as a weapon, she hopes that some, if not all, of the lands she has seized will be recognized as hers.
“We must act united in order for it to be defeated” h Russia, so that the world can focus on the international challenges it faces, he continued. “The conqueror must return to his own land,” he added.
This was Zelensky’s first live speech to the General Assembly since Russia invaded Ukraine last February.
