It is recalled that the White House announced yesterday that the US is going to provide Ukraine with “significant” anti-aircraft defense equipment, but not the long-range ATACMS missiles
US President Joe Biden has informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Washington will supply Kiev with long-range ATACMS missiles, NBC television reported today, citing three US officials and a congressional official.
It is recalled that the White House announced yesterday that the US is going to provide Ukraine with “significant” anti-aircraft defense means, but not the long-range ATACMS missiles requested by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters that US President Joe Biden is set to announce a new military aid package that will include anti-aircraft and other systems to support Kiev ahead of a harsh winter.
Biden “decided that ATACMS (missiles) will not be provided, but did not rule out that possibility for the future,” he added.
Sullivan also said he believes there will be strong bipartisan support in Congress to give Ukraine the aid it needs.
Referring to the diplomatic crisis between Warsaw and Kiev, he stressed that Poland still supports Ukraine in the war with Russia.
