Deputy Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs Steve Gillen participated in the meetings with the families, Anthony Blinken said
With families of Americans killed or captured by Hamas, he met Anthony Blinken, as he announced at a press conference in Tel Aviv on Thursday, confirming that the US is doing “everything it can to secure the release of the hostages”.
Deputy Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs Steve Gillen participated in the meetings with the families, the US Secretary of State said, and “will remain here to support efforts to free their loved ones.”
“The magnitude of their anguish, their loss, is immeasurable. For the families of the missing, there is an unrelenting anguish of not knowing the fate of their loved ones. Something that I don’t think most of us can really understand, really think about, unless you’ve been in their shoes. No one should have to endure what they are going through,” said the American Foreign Minister.
At least 25 Americans were killed after Hamas terror attacks in Israel. The White House announced Wednesday that 17 Americans are missing.
