Israel is not interested in waging war on its northern front, the country’s defense minister said as Israeli forces announced that nine rockets had been fired into Israel from Lebanon.

Particularly, Israel’s defense minister said today that his country is not interested in waging war on its northern front and, if Lebanon’s pro-Iranian Hezbollah group shows restraint, Israel will respect the border situation as it stands today.

Minutes earlier, alarm sirens sounded across northern Israel, warning of a possible rocket attack.

The Israel Defense Forces announced that nine rockets were fired into Israel from Lebanon a short time ago, raising the alarm in Nahariya and nearby towns.

According to the IDF, five of the missiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system, while the rest were not directed at residential areas.

There were no reports of injuries or damage from the attack.
