A chart with the details and photos of senior Hamas figures has been released by the Israeli military, with the warning “we know who you are”.

The hierarchy chart shows at the top the “leader” of the organization worldwide and the political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniya and below his “deputy leaders”, Yahya Singar (Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip), and Mohammed Daif (the supreme military commander of the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the organization).

“These are the ones responsible for Hamas attacks against Israeli civilians. We know who you are,” the IDF captioned its post.

Who is Ismail Haniya?

Haniya became Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority in 2006, but was deposed in 2007 by President Mahmoud Abbas. He and the Palestinian Legislative Council they did not recognize this act and since then it exercises de facto power in the Gaza Strip, while in the West Bank power is exercised by the Palestinian Authority, controlled by Fatah.

Mohammed Deif, the “seven-souled” and “most wanted” man in the Israeli army since 1995

Deif joined Hamas in 1990 and has since been involved in numerous and deadly attacks against Israel.

At the same time, he himself has survived five Israeli airstrikes, which caused him serious injuries and disabilities.

In the first assassination attempt on his life, he is believed to have lost an eye, and in the second, he lost part of his hand and is believed to be crippled. Dave’s wife, 7-month-old infant and 3-year-old daughter were killed by an Israeli airstrike in 2014.

The most recent Israeli attempt to kill Dave was during Operation Wall Guardian in May 2021.

After his release from a Palestinian Authority prison in April 2001, involved in one “wave of bombings” which lasted several months during the second intifada.

Daif became the supreme military commander of the Izz al-Qassam Brigades after Israel assassinated Salah Sehande in July 2002.

Israel holds him directly responsible for killing dozens of civilians in numerous suicide bombings since 1995including the Jaffa Street bus bombings in Jerusalem.

Dave has topped Israel’s most wanted list for over two decades.

The United States Department of State added Dave to its list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists on September 8, 2015.

In February 2006, some Israeli media claimed that Daif would set up an al-Qaeda network in the Gaza Strip, as he did not support the Hamas approach. This claim, however, was denied by the Izz al-Qassam Brigades.
