Britain has been outraged by the… overzealousness of a police officer who was caught on video pinning a 14-year-old boy to the ground – still in his school uniform – and giving him an electric shock with a taser.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon in Bromford, Birmingham and the video has gone viral.

Police were called to an incident of a fight between neighbors in a housing complex. Arriving at the scene, one of them throws the boy to the ground and immobilizes him with a headlock as the rest of the people around them shout “get off him”.

The video then shows the officer pulling out a taser and electrocuting the child, shocking him with about 50,000 volts of electricity.

The teenager, still in his school uniform, collapses on the grass and appears to be convulsing with shock as onlookers scream at the officer “what are you doing?”

In the video, the mother of the teenager can be heard shouting angrily at the police officer “what the f@t@ did you do to my son? He has asthma, look, he can’t breathe, he’s a child.”

One of the policemen then shouts to the assembled citizens that the boy has been arrested and warns the others not to approach.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said officers were called to a “neighborly dispute” and the boy was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and criminal damage.
