“Israel must make a choice. The denial of the existence, the rights of the Palestinians, the application of pressure, the oppression has not brought, and will not bring peace to Israel,” Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan said in a joint interview with his Danish counterpart Lars Rasmussen on Friday.

“If Israel wants to live in peace and security, it must respect the right of the Palestinians to live in their own land, in their own state. If Israel does not this, he will find himself in an environment and a vicious circle of violence which will be strengthened more and more each time. As Turkey, we encourage common sense with all parties involved in the problem,” said the Turkish Foreign Minister.

“We advise the non-regional actors not to participate in the crimes committed by Israel under the guise of solidarity. We must prevent the crisis from spreading. Different, we may witness much greater developments on a global level” noted Fidan.

“Israel is violating international law. We cannot remain silent in the face of this oppression. Efforts must be made to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches Gaza without interruption. We were not and will never be part of the oppression. What we want from Israel is to listen to our plea for peace.”

Fidan’s reaction to Hamas

Turkey plays an important role in regional, global politics as well as in the Middle East, the Danish foreign minister said for his part, however he clarified that Hamas is a terrorist organization. The statement provoked Fidan’s reaction:

“There are differences in our interpretations of terrorism… Other countries do not recognize YPG (PKK) and FETO (Gulenists), as terrorist organizations, which we recognize as terrorist organizations.”

“We told them that we do not recognize Hamas, which is a political entity, as a terrorist organization. But this does not mean that we accept the killing of civilians, we said that we condemned it from the beginning” clarified the Turkish Foreign Minister.
