Hamas rejects as ‘baseless’ Israel’s claim that it hides its command centers under Gaza hospitals.
Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the Islamist group’s politburo, said in a statement that Israel’s claims were “a prelude to a new massacre against our people, greater than that of Al-Ahli”, referring to the Al-Ahli hospital strike, which is however widely believed to have been caused by a misfired Islamic Jihad missile.
Earlier, the IDF had announced that Hamas’ main operational base is located below Shifa Hospital, the largest in the Strip.
“More than 40,000 Gazans have taken refuge in Al-Sifa Hospital, displaced by the shelling that has hit everything,” says al-Rishq. “We call on the leaders of Arab and Muslim countries to take action and stop the genocide against our people,” he added.
