Echelons of the Foreign Office are in the area to assist the British who will pass through Egypt
London, Thanasis Gavos
The Foreign Office in London announced that the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt would remain open for “controlled and time-limited periods” to allow “specific groups” of foreign nationals and the wounded to leave Gaza.
Therefore, added the British Foreign Office, it is likely that the withdrawal of British nationals from the area “will take place in stages over the coming days”.

The Scottish devolved government has also confirmed that the list of the first 500 or so people agreed to be allowed to leave Gaza does not include the names of British citizens.
Among the British trapped in the area are the in-laws of the Prime Minister of Scotland, Hamza Yousaf. In the most recent contact with their daughter Nadia on Wednesday morning they said they were quickly running out of supplies and had no access to drinking water.
