Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated today in Kiev, where he is paying an official visit, that his country is ready to do everything possible to end the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and offered to host a meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine. .

In remarks after nearly four hours of talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev, Erdogan also reiterated that Turkey is determined to support “the territorial integrity of Ukraine and Crimea.”

At a joint news conference with the two leaders, Zelensky welcomed Erdogan’s offer to mediate to end the crisis and host peace talks.

“I would like to thank President Erdogan for taking the initiative to mediate between Ukraine and Russia” to ease tensions, Zelensky said, stressing that his country was “ready” to do what it can to do so. .

Earlier, the two countries signed a free trade agreement, which Zelensky described as “historic”.
