A sheep that for two years has been trapped alone on a rugged coast of Scotland, with no way of escape, has moved the British.

The unfortunate animal – which has been described as Britain’s loneliest sheep – was first spotted by Jill Turner.

This year Turner returned to the same spot with other kayakers, and saw the sheep again, this time with so much wool that the animal could barely stand up.

The animal has been trapped for two years in this spot, without any human contact and care) as, due to the morphology of the coast (full of rocks) and the weather, they cannot be approached by inflatable or conventional boats.

After the story was published, the British Hovercraft Company offered to rescue the sheep with a hovercraft (a special type of ship that moves on a layer of air) and is looking for a sponsor for its special mission.

But the Scottish animal welfare organization SPCA warns that the operation to rescue the sheep will be incredibly complicated due to the geography and ever-changing weather in the area.
