Postmen who ate brownies with marijuana are investigated in the UK

by

The package said “Pablo Chocobar’s Edibles” and had been sitting for a month at the post office in Clapham, south London, with no one to pick it up. Employees decided to open the box and ate the brownies inside – except that in addition to chocolate, flour and nuts, there was also cannabis.

A video showing employees under the influence of the drug has surfaced, and the British postal service, the Royal Mail, announced on Thursday (3) the opening of an investigation into the incident.

“Today all the postmen of Clapham [sul de Londres] accidentally ate hash brownies, and I had to take them one by one because they were high,” read the post in an Instagram story — a post mode that disappears after 24 hours.

The footage even showed a mailman trying to push his cart, while one of his co-workers yelled, “You’re too stoned!” Afterwards, the same professional appears seated, and a colleague says: “He ate two”. “I got four,” replies the man in the chair.

The British Post said it took the matter very seriously and expected the best behavior of its agents “at all times”. “We have launched an investigation that will determine whether any action is needed, including disciplinary action,” a spokesperson for the agency told the AFP news agency by email.

Royal Mail said it was “reminding all of its delivery personnel of the correct procedures for items without a delivery or return address.”

The UK legalized the sale of cannabis-infused drugs in 2018, but the recreational use of marijuana remains banned in the country. It is illegal to possess, cultivate, distribute or sell the drug.

The penalties for possession are a maximum of five years in prison and a fine. Sale, production and trafficking can lead to imprisonment of 14 years and a fine.
