The head of the Mossad David Barnea he reportedly met with the director of the CIA William Burns and the prime minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani in Doha to discuss the details of a deal with the Hamas terror group to free hostages and stop fighting.
The discussion also included debate for humanitarian aid to enter GazaReuters reports, citing an unnamed source briefed on the meeting.
Barnea, Burns and al Thani had this meeting after Qatari mediators they met officials from the Hamas political office on Wednesday night and discussed parameters of a possible deal.
The purpose of the tripartite meeting was to bring the three parties together at one table order to speed up the process, the source said.
Conversations also included discussion to allow humanitarian fuel imports in Gaza, which Israel has so far denied, lest, as it says, they are diverted to Hamas for war purposes.
A source told Reuters on Wednesday that the talks involved the release of 10-15 hostages in exchange for a humanitarian pause of one to two days in the war ravaging Gaza.
The outcome of the talks was not made known.
Qatar, where several Hamas political leaders are based, leads efforts to mediation between Hamas and Israeli officials for the release of the hostages they are holding the organization’s fighters when they attacked Israel on October 7thkilling 1,400 people.

“There is no ceasefire” however, the IDF clarified in its post. “There are regular, local humanitarian aid pauses for Gazans. These regular pauses are limited in time and area. We are also providing humanitarian corridors for civilians in Gaza to temporarily move south to safer areas where they can receive humanitarian aid.
