The co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniakwas rushed Wednesday to a hospital in Mexico City as a result ischemic stroke.

Wozniak, 73, was due to attend a conference during the World Business Forum in Mexico City, but had to be rushed to ABC Santa Fe Hospital in the Mexican capital for an emergency MRI. The ischemic stroke, which represents about 87% of all strokes, occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is blocked, causing damage to brain cells

Medical sources reported that the state of health of the 73-year-old IT engineering is stable. Several people from Wozniak’s team immediately flew to Mexico on a private jet to check on his medical condition, and to fly him back to the United States for treatment.

Wozniak himself claims to be the creator of the first personal computer in history. In 1976, together with Steve Jobs, they created Apple in a garage, which is today the largest technology company in the world.
