Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that US President Joe Biden and Western countries have not helped resolve the Russia-Ukraine crisis and that there are no European leaders suitable to resolve it, Turkish media reported today. information.

Speaking to reporters on his return flight, Erdogan reportedly said he attached great importance to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s planned visit to Turkey.

Erdogan also reportedly said Turkey and Israel could work together to transport gas from Israel to Europe, and the two countries would discuss energy co-operation during talks next month.

Turkey is trying to improve its strained relations with Israel and other countries as part of an effort launched in 2020. In an apparent move to de-escalate after years of hostility, Erdogan announced on Thursday that Israeli President Isaac Herzog would visit Turkey in mid-March.

Speaking to reporters on a return flight from Kiev, Erdogan said energy co-operation would be on the agenda during Herzog’s visit, adding that Ankara was also in talks to sign a gas deal with Iraq. according to Turkish media.
