The Russian troops, who have been launching attacks against it for a month Avdiivka, attempt to surround the city of eastern Ukraine and understand a strategically important industrial unit, announced today Friday a representative of the Ukrainian army, adding that two civilians were killed in the previous 24 hours.

“Not only are they fighting to (take over) the factory, but they are not stopping encircling Avdiivka,” Oleksandr Stupun told Ukrainian television. “THE coking unit is important” for Russian forces, he underlined and assured that it currently remains under Ukrainian control.

However, the attacks continue unabated and “two civilians, a man and a woman, were killed on Thursday night in a blow to an apartment building”, he added.

On Tuesday, the Ukrainian authorities announced that they expect a new wave of attacks by Russian forces, as the invaders do not retreat though heavy losses are incurred.

In Kherson region, where fighting is also raging, a man was killed in Kintyika by Russian artillery shells, according to regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin. A little while later he announced that one person was killed and five were wounded by a Russian strike in the village of Novoraisk.
