Indirect response to the new President of Argentina, Javier Millay, who called the need to return the Falkland Malvinas Islands from Britain to his country non-negotiable by the Secretary of Defense of the United Kingdom
London, Thanasis Gavos
An indirect response to the new President of Argentina, Javier Millay where described as non-negotiable the need to return the Falkland Malvinas Islands from Britain to his country was given by the UK Defense Secretary.
In a post on Twitter, Grant Shapps wrote: “The Falkland Islands are British. This is non-negotiable and irrefutable. 99.8% of islanders voted to remain British and we will always defend their right to self-determination and UK sovereignty, with (warship) HMS Forth now back to protect the islands.”
The Falkland Islands are British. That is non-negotiable and undeniable 🇬🇧🇫🇰
99.8% of islanders voted to remain British and we will always defend their right to self-determination and the UK’s sovereignty with @HMS_Forth now back to protect the islands. https://t.co/9Hlj2FegpF

Mr Shapps’ post did not refer to Mr Miley’s remarks, but referred to the news that the Royal Navy patrol boat HMS Medway had been replaced after nine months in the Falklands by the also patrol ship HMS Forth.
“The mission in the Falklands is focused on reassurance and support for the island community,” the news on the website of the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom reads.
