The director of Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip he was arrested and taken for questioning by the ISA following evidence that the Hospital, under his immediate management, served as a command and control center for Hamas the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) recently confirmed the presence of Internal Security (Shin Bet – ISA).

“Hamas’ terrorist tunnel network located under the hospital was also exploiting electricity and resources taken from the hospital. In addition, Hamas stored many weapons inside the hospital and on the hospital grounds,” the statement said.

Furthermore, after the October 7th Hamas massacre, Hamas terrorists sought refuge inside the hospital, some of them were taking hostages from Israel with them, the IDF said.

“In the hospital, under his management, there was widespread terrorist activity by Hamas. “Findings of his involvement in terrorist activity will determine whether he is subject to further questioning by the ISA,” the statement said.

“Now, the undeniable truth of Hamas’ exploitation of Gaza hospitals is on full display to the world,” Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari commented.

“We have an important question to ask the international community: what will you do to prevent Gaza hospitals from turning into terrorist bases in the future? Will you condemn Hamas?
