A 41-year-old man, known to authorities for domestic violence cases, surrendered to police today and confessed to killing his three daughters, aged 4, 10 and 11, inside their home in Alfortville, a suburb of Paris.

Kreteig’s public prosecutor’s office confirmed the death “three little girls, 4, 10 and 11 years old».

The father went this afternoon to the Dieppe police station in Normandy and stated that he killed his children. Police then went to his home in Alfortville and found the three girls dead.

According to the first evidence of the investigation, the two children were killed with a knife and their bodies were covered with a blanket.

The third child was on a sofa.

The confessed perpetrator had been convicted several times in the past for violence against his wife and children.

A source close to the investigation said the two parents had alternating custody of their children.

The 41-year-old claimed he did not know the whereabouts of the children’s mother and police had not been able to locate her by late this evening.

The Kreteig prosecutor will hold a press conference on the case tomorrow at noon.

The police authorities recorded in 2021 64,300 victims (a 16% increase compared to 2020) of domestic, non-marital, violence. In 80% of cases the victims were minors and more than half (59%) were women.

About a month ago, on October 29, a gendarme killed his three daughters inside their home in Vemar, near Paris, and then took his own life.
