Shocking footage, showing the scenes of chaos and panic that unfolded during the massive earthquake 7.6 Richter which occurred on Saturday at 4:37 p.m in the island of Mindanao, in the Philippines, posted on social media.

They have not been reported so far injury or damage.

The earthquake had a focal depth of 32 km at a distance of nearly 21 km northeast of Hinatuan, the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The US Tsunami Warning System issued a tsunami warning after the earthquake.

Philippine authorities also warned for “catastrophic tsunami”, and called on the inhabitants to move inland.

“A devastating tsunami is expected with waves, the height of which is a threat to lives,” the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said in a post on the X platform.

A 6.4-magnitude aftershock has struck the southern Philippines, shortly after the first strong quake, the USGS said, followed by several aftershocks.
