Public opinion is shocked by the murder of a 14-year-old girlwho was abducted a week ago in front of her home in Skopje and was found dead yesterday, Sunday, at a location outside Skopje.

As stated today by North Macedonia’s Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, the motivation for the kidnapping was personal gain, with the kidnappers intending to extract money from the mother of the 14-year-old. The girl’s father reportedly informed the abductors about her movements.

Three people were arrested for the case, while the murderer initially fled to Serbia and from there to Bulgaria, where he is being sought.

According to the interior minister of North Macedonia, the “mastermind” of the kidnapping killed the 14-year-old girl with a gunfearing that he might be arrested by the police who had launched an investigation into the kidnapping.

A 74-year-old man was also found dead yesterday, who was allegedly kidnapped by the same group that kidnapped the 14-year-old. The 74-year-old owed one of the kidnappers 500 euros.

Police know the identity of the killer, who is believed to be the controversial businessman Ljuptso Palevski, who had troubled the authorities several times in the past. The perpetrator is also the founder of a small extra-parliamentary nationalist party in North Macedonia.

“I can promise you that both I and the police will do everything so that this person, or rather this monster, whose tracks we are following, will arrive as soon as possible in our country and be brought to justice,” said the minister Interior of North Macedonia.

The 14-year-old girl was kidnapped on November 27 in front of her house in the center of Skopje while she was on her way to school. The police had immediately proceeded to publicize the details of the minor, as there were reasons that put her life in danger.
