A 17-year-old BritAlex Baty, who went missing in 2017 at the age of 11, has been found near Toulouse, France and is expected to return home soon.
“We confirm that it has been identified. Now (Alex Batty) will return to Britain“, the Toulouse public prosecutor’s office told the French News Agency (AFP) today, confirming the information previously reported by the BBC and the newspaper La Dépêche du Midi.

He had disappeared while on holiday with his mother and grandfather. His grandmother, who had custody of him, told the BBC in 2018 that she believed Alex’s mother and grandfather had taken him to live in a “spiritual community” in Morocco. According to her, they did not want the child to go to school and were looking for an alternative way of life.
