Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan today that Israel’s attack on the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, must stop, the official WAFA news agency reported.

During their meeting in Ramallah, Abbas stressed to Sullivan that the US must “intervene to force Israel to stop its aggression against our people in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem,” according to WAFA.

At the same time, the Palestinian president stated that any attempt to “separate” and “isolate” the Gaza Strip from the Palestinian state is “unacceptable”.

“Underlining that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine, the president reiterated that any attempt to separate or isolate any part of it is unacceptable,” according to the statement issued after Abbas met with the US official.
