The pictures show sunken planes at Cairns airport and a crocodile seen wandering the city’s flooded streets. At the same time, people left their homes in boats.

No deaths or missing have been reported so far.
Heavy rain is expected to continue for another 24 hours.
Hundreds of people have been rescued, many homes have been flooded, power and roads have been cut and drinking water is running low.

Queensland Premier Stephen Miles told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that the natural disaster was “the worst I can remember.”
