A bloody attack by a sniper at a University in Prague took place on Thursday afternoon. According to the Czech police, the attacker was neutralized. According to the Czech authorities, the dead are 11, together with the perpetrator, while the wounded amount to at least 25, of which nine are hospitalized in a serious condition.

“11 dead including the attacker, 9 injured in serious condition, 5 – 6 fairly to seriously injured, up to 10 slightly injured. The numbers are subject to change.”

A photo of the alleged perpetrator circulating on social networks has not been confirmed by the authorities.

The incident happened at the Charles University School of Arts in the center of Prague. The whole building in Jan Palach Square has been evacuated and a pyrotechnic inspection is currently underway, the police announced.

Czech police said on Twitter that “people were killed and others injured by gunfire.” At the same time, the authorities appeal to residents to stay in their homes.
