The former mayor of New York filed for bankruptcy today Thursday, a few days after a federal court in Washington decided that he must pay more than $148 million in damages to two former public servants in Georgia whom he defamed by falsely accusing them of helping to rig the 2020 election.

Giuliani, who as a lawyer for Donald Trump supported the allegations of the Republican former US president for fraud in the 2020 presidential election, filed the petition in New York bankruptcy court. In it he states that his debts and obligations amount to between 100 and 500 million dollars, while his assets do not exceed 10 million dollars.

The application also mentions a debt to Hunter Biden, without specifying its height. In September, US President Joe Biden’s son sued Giuliani for stealing personal data from his laptop.
