“A lot is said, but really, of course, accepting a country like Ukraine into the EU… would just undermine the whole EU system”
The Kremlin said on Friday that Ukraine can “undermine” the entire EU system if he becomes a member of it. Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that this country will be “a burden that the EU will not be able to bear”.
“A lot is being said, but really, of course, joining a country like Ukraine in the EU… would just undermine the whole system of the European Union. And the cool ones understand that this will be a burden that the EU simply cannot bear, and the EU will fall apart”he claimed.
Putin’s Russian spokesman noted, however, that EU officials are currently in discussions only the possibility of granting integration in Kiev and experience shows that such discussions can last for decades.
Asked about the attempted seizure of Russia’s assets in Western countries, Peskov warned that such a precedent, if it happens, will have disastrous effects throughout the global financial system.
“The issue of the illegal seizure of our assets is constantly on the agenda both in Europe and America. Those who try to start this, and those who will implement it, must understand that the Russian Federation will never leave those who did it alone,” the Russian warned
official according to Anadolu.
After the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, the US and the EU have frozen billions of its financial assets.
