Mother orca training her babies to hunt dolphins, was captured by the spotter’s camera offering an incredible sight.

This rare privilege of seeing and recording an orca training its young to hunt dolphins was enjoyed by those who found themselves off its coast a few days ago San Diego.

The pod of killer whales had earlier been spotted further north, near Long Beach, California. Whale watcher Domenic Biagini filmed the orcas returning south to the Mexican coast and captured the dolphin hunt.

Biagini, founder of the company Gone Whale Watching, told NBC 7 it was only the 7th time since 2019 that he was in front of such a sight.

“There is no way of knowing what made them decide to take a road trip to the coast. But we know they stay in areas where the dolphins are,” Alisa Schulman-Janifer, lead research biologist at the California Killer Whale Project.”
