“I want the war to stop so that we can go back to our homes and go back to my normal life,” said the 10-year-old, adding that he has not seen his mother for weeks.
THE neighborAdel Haniyeh, explained that he was traveling south through Gaza with his children when recognized Naseem and decided to take care of him. The child’s father was arrested at an Israeli army checkpoint, he said.
“The boy is in bad shape. He needs to follow a special diet, his condition is very bad. We sleep in a mosque and come here (daily) with a cart pulled by donkeys,” Haniyeh described, noting that they also have to wait in line for hours for the child to undergo treatment.
