6-year-old Casper’s adventure reminded him of a scene from Home Alone 2 – He was visiting his grandmother for Christmas – He was traveling from Philadelphia to Fort Myers and arrived in Orlando
Life imitated art in the USA starring a 6-year-old who was traveling unaccompanied for the Christmas holidays and unfortunately for him the airline made a mistake and put him on the wrong flight.
The little one’s adventure is similar to “Home Alone”, as the Daily Mail writes that Spirit Airlines did not realize its mistake until his grandmother who was waiting for him at the Fort Myer airport started looking for him.
The child eventually arrived in Orlando, 257 kilometers northwest of his original destination.
The incident happened on Saturday with the company being forced to apologize and the event going viral around the world recalling the adventure of actor Macaulay Culkin in the movie Home Alone 2.
“On December 21, an unaccompanied child who was traveling from Philadelphia to Fort Myers mistakenly boarded a flight to Orlando”Spirit Airlines said in a statement issued Sunday.
The grandmother of 6-year-old Casper, Maria Ramos, described to local TV station WINK News the moments of anguish until she found where her 6-year-old grandson had ended up by showing the check-in tag in her hands.
Spirit Airlines has offered to reimburse his grandmother for the trip to pick up Casper, but his family is demanding an explanation.
