Pyongyang will expand strategic cooperation with “anti-imperialist independent” countries, Kim Jong Un said in a clear reference to his country’s cooperation with Russia
Kim Jong-un puts North Korea’s war machine on standby to deal with “unprecedented US confrontational moves”.
In particular, North Korea’s leader has ordered the country’s military, defense industry and nuclear weapons sector to step up war preparations, state media reported Thursday.
Speaking about the new year’s political directions during a major meeting of the country’s ruling party, Kim Jong Un also said Pyongyang would expand strategic cooperation with “anti-imperialist independent” countries, KCNA news agency reported.
North Korea is expanding its ties and cooperation with Russia, among others, as Washington accuses Pyongyang of supplying military equipment to Moscow for use in its war with Ukraine, while Russia provides technical support to boost its its military capabilities.
On Thursday, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol visited a frontline military unit in eastern Yeoncheon County to inspect its defense readiness and called for immediate retaliation if there is any provocation from North Korea.
“I urge you to immediately and forcefully crush the enemy’s will in the event of any provocation,” Yoon told the soldiers.
