Man survives flight from Algeria to Paris by hiding in plane’s landing gear in -50C temperatures.

A man was discovered hiding in the landing gear cabin of an Air Algerie commercial jet that flew to Paris from Oran, Algeria with severe hypothermia but alivethe French authorities announced.

The man, who is believed to bein his 20s, was found during technical checks after the Air Algerie flight from Oran, Algeria landed at Paris Orly Airportprosecutors told AFP.

He had no ID on him and was taken to hospital in serious condition.

An airport source said that the man “he was alive but his health condition is life-threatening due to hypothermia.”

Commercial airliners fly at an altitude of 30,000 to 40,000 feet, where temperatures typically drop to -50 degrees Celsius and the lack of oxygen makes the survival of anyone traveling to an unheated landing pad unlikely.

The death rate for persons attempting to travel this way is 77%.
