“Attacks in the Red Sea will continue,” the group’s chief negotiator said
The chief negotiator of Yemen’s Houthis said today that the organization’s position has not changed after the under the leadership of USA by air blows in Yemen and warned that attacks on ships bound for Israel will continue.
“Attacks to intercept Israeli ships or those heading to ports in occupied Palestine will continue”Mohamed Abdelsalam told Reuters.
He added that the requests of the organization continue to be a) given an end to the Israeli attack on Gaza and b) to allow the providing humanitarian aid in the northern and southern parts of the enclave.
“We don’t want an escalation in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea,” Abdelsalam said. According to him, it is the US and Britain that are militarizing the Red Sea with their warships.
“Our update … continues to clarify our position and confirm that all commercial ships in the Red and Arabian Seas are safe, with the exception of Israeli ships or those bound for Israeland only these,” he declared.
Israel has repeatedly denied any ties to ships attacked in the Red Sea and many international shipping companies have stopped shipping or opted for longer and more expensive sea routes.
“Our position comes from religious, moral and humanitarian principles… as well as in response to the calls of the Palestinian people … to support the oppressed in the Gaza Strip,” Abdelsalam said.
