The American Foreign Minister had a meeting with the Ukrainian president in Davos
THE US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken pledged today to maintain US support for Ukraine, after a meeting he had in Davos with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We are determined to maintain our support for Ukraine and we are working very closely with Congress” on this matter, said A. Blinken during a meeting with V. Zelensky on the sidelines of his meeting World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. “I know our European colleagues will do the same.”
THE White House national security adviser Jake Sullivanwho was also present, assured the Ukrainian president that the United States and its allies are determined to “ensure that Russia fails and Ukraine wins.”
V. Zelensky thanked the Biden administration and “bipartisan support” in the American Congress. “We are truly counting on your support — on your continued tremendous support,” he said.
He mentioned mainly the American Patriot systemwhich helped Ukraine in its air defense against Russian missile attacks.
After the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022, the United States they have sent about $44 billion in military aid to Ukraine, plus many billions in aid and economic support.
