At least 25 people others were also killed 20 were injured today in one Ukrainian blow in a market in the Russian-controlled city Donetsk, in eastern Ukraine, according to a new tally released by the Russian-appointed head of its district Donetsk Denis Pussin.

“At this time, the information that spoke of 25 dead has been confirmed. At least 20 people have been injured, among them two children…” he said in a post on Telegram.

According to Alexei Kulemzin, the Moscow-appointed mayor of the city of Donetsk, Ukrainian forces shelled a crowded neighborhood where shops and a market are located.

Pushilin said that the city was shelled by Ukrainian artillery. At the moment Ukraine has not commented on this.

Reuters photos and video from the scene showed people crying, some of whom said they had lost relatives, and bodies lying in the snow near one of the city’s markets.

An earlier tally by authorities installed by Moscow put 18 dead and 10 injured.
