Ukraine announced today that it shot down eight Iranian-made drones launched against it overnight by Russia.

“The enemy attacked with eight Shahid-136/131 unmanned aerial vehicles,” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement, adding that they were launched from Russia’s Primorsko-Akhtarsk region, located on the eastern shore of the Sea of ​​Azov.

The unmanned aircraft etcwere intercepted by defense systems in regions of southern and central Ukraine, is added to the notice. No damage caused by falling debris has been reported at this stage.

This new drone attack attributed to Moscow followed the bombing of oil storage tanks in the Russian border regions. Sources in the Ukrainian security forces claimed responsibility for some of these attacks speaking to AFP.

Russia also announced yesterday, Sunday, that a fire broke out at a natural gas terminal in Russia, a potential target of Ukrainian forces. The fire was caused by an “external factor,” said Novatec, which manages the facility, without giving further details.
