Young man hits Bae Hyun-jin on the head with a rock – The second attack on a politician in the country this month

An assailant, whose details have not been identified, hit the deputy in the head with an object while she was walking in the Gangnam district of Seoul.
Yonhap news agency earlier reported that the attacker was arrested at the scene and told police he was 15 years old.
He asked Bae what her name was before hitting her with a small one stonethe agency reported, adding that the MP he was bleeding when he was taken to the hospital.
Interim party leader Han Dong-hun later told reporters at the hospital that Bae had lost a lot of blood after the attack but was now recovering, adding that such an incident should not happen again.
No details about the attacker or his motives have been released.
“We are unavoidably saddened by (today’s) attack,” People’s Party spokesman Jung Hye-yong said in a statement. “We demand a thorough investigation and tough measures against the perpetrator.”

Earlier in January, opposition Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung was stabbed in the neck and required surgery. He was discharged from the hospital eight days later.
