US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland will visit Turkey today and tomorrow.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burak Aksapar within the framework of the Turkey-US Strategic Mechanism, established in 2021.

In the consultations that will take place during of the meeting of the Strategic Mechanism, it is planned to exchange views on the bilateral relations of the USA with Turkey, as well as on regional and international issues.

“During her stay in Ankara, Acting Secretary Nuland will meet with senior government officials and business leaders to discuss the full range of bilateral, regional and global issues on which we are working together,” the State Department said in a statement. .

Victoria Nuland’s visit comes in the wake of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s signing of Sweden’s NATO accession protocol and the US government’s subsequent formal request to Congress for the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey.
